Clacton Pier has been nominated for a top theme park award for the second year running.
The popular seaside attraction has been shortlisted in the UK Theme Park Awards 2025 and it needs your votes if it is to come out on top.
The pier is up against 11 other major venues from around the country, including Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Codona’s in Aberdeen, Southend’s Adventure Island, Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach and Pleasurewood Hills in Suffolk.
It is the sixth year that the awards have been staged and there are 22 categories in all with the pier nominated in the Best Seaside Parks section.

Voting opened today and runs through to September 1 with results announced at a ceremony at Wicksteed Park on September 18.
Pier general manager Harry Peek said he was delighted that the attraction has been shortlisted again this year along with a host of other leading sites.
“We are under no illusion that it will be hard to fight off such tough opposition which includes some very big names in the business,” he added.
“It is an honour in itself to be shortlisted and we know we have tremendous support in our local community so hopefully that will stand us in good stead.
“People have voted for us in the past to help us win other accolades so we are asking them to get behind us again in these very prestigious national awards.”
Prior to the public vote, a shortlist was put together from nominations and the help of a panel of judges.
There were 34,131 nominations received and 35 theme parks have put forward across all the categories.
Mr Peek said it is important for the pier to get this type of recognition – and it is not only a boost for the attraction but also puts Clacton and Tendring in the spotlight.
The awards are organised by ThemeParks-UK.com, an industry consumer guide to UK theme parks, in association with AttractionTickets.com.
Mr Peek said the pier team really appreciates all those who take the time to vote for them in any award.
The public vote is open at ukthemeparkawards.com
On Saturday (July 26) Clacton Pier is staging its first free fireworks extravaganza of the summer holidays.
The action will take place at the end of the pier at about 9.30pm and rides will remain open until 10pm.
