Preparations are also well underway to welcome the world’s last surviving seagoing passenger carrying paddle steamer to Clacton with six cruises.
Waverley’s excursions are picking up at the pier and will include two new trips.
There will be a special cruise to celebrate Radio Caroline’s 60th anniversary on October 4 and another out to view the Principality of Sealand on October 8.
The Caroline Cruise will feature DJ Ray Clarke talking about the history of Caroline with other guest DJs aboard.
The Sealand cruise will have special guests the Sealand Royal Family aboard, and 60s band Eclipse playing live to make it a swinging 60s party cruise.
The Waverley, which was built in 1946, will also operate three trips from Clacton to the River Thames and under Tower Bridge on September 27, and October 5 and 9, as well as an evening sunset excursion to the Port of Felixstowe and the River Orwell on October 4.
Nigel Brown, Clacton Pier’s communications Manager, said: “It is always an honour and a pleasure to welcome this iconic vessel to the pier. It is a magnificent site watching it arrive and depart and draws a large crowd.”
The London cruises on September 27 and October 9 are already sold out but there are still places available on October 5.
