Your Personalised Plaque

Each plaque includes a custom inscription. From birthdays and anniversaries to heartfelt dedications, your words will become a permanent part of the pier experience.

A Lasting Connection

Plaques are installed for a period of 10 years, giving you a long-lasting presence in this special seaside location. At the end of the term, there’s the option to renew, update, or have your plaque returned.

Celebration Plaques

  • Celebration Plaques are installed around the base of the handrail along Clacton Pier, providing a lasting way to mark a special occasion, achievement, or remember a loved one in a unique seaside setting.
  • The exact location of individual plaques cannot be specified or guaranteed.
  • The sponsorship term is for a period of 10 years from the date of installation.
  • At the end of the 10-year period, we will contact the sponsor to offer the option of renewing the agreement, updating the plaque, or arranging for removal.
  • If we are unable to make contact, the plaque may be respectfully removed or repurposed.

Plaques & Inscriptions

  • Each sponsorship includes one personalised plaque with an inscription agreed in advance with Clacton Pier.
  • Plaques may commemorate birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, personal achievements, or the memory of a loved one.
  • All inscriptions are subject to approval by Clacton Pier and must be appropriate for a public, family-friendly environment.
  • Plaques remain the property of Clacton Pier but may be returned to the sponsor at the end of the sponsorship term if requested.

Location & Relocation

  • Celebration Plaques are installed around the base of the pier handrail. While every effort will be made to maintain their presence throughout the sponsorship period, Clacton Pier reserves the right to relocate plaques at any time if required due to maintenance, operational requirements, or future development works.
  • Specific positions cannot be requested, reserved, or guaranteed.

Weathering & Appearance

  • Celebration Plaques are installed in an exposed coastal environment and will naturally weather over time.
  • Weathering, fading, surface marking, or ageing caused by sea air and environmental conditions is to be expected and forms part of the character of the installation.
  • Plaques will not be polished, refurbished, or replaced due to natural weathering.

Maintenance

  • Clacton Pier will ensure plaques remain safely installed for the duration of the sponsorship term.
  • If a plaque is damaged beyond repair due to exceptional circumstances such as structural works or vandalism, we will contact the sponsor to discuss available options. Additional costs may apply.

Flowers & Personal Items

  • To maintain a safe, clean, and respectful environment for all visitors, flowers, decorations, balloons, photographs, or personal items must not be placed on or around plaques.
  • Any such items may be removed without notice.

General

  • Clacton Pier is a public space and working attraction. Sponsorship of a Celebration Plaque does not grant ownership of the plaque, handrail, or any specific location on the pier.
  • All correspondence will be sent using the contact details provided at the time of application. Please notify us of any changes to your contact information.
