Calling all Armed Forces and Veterans – Clacton Pier is laying on a free weekend of fun for you and your families.
The attraction stages the two-day event annually and is hoping for another good turnout of the troops.
The pier is offering free unlimited rides for up to four people this weekend (Saturday September 14 and Sunday September 15) handing out special family wristbands from its ticket box.
Thanks to local groups and organisations, vintage military vehicles will also line-up on the pier forecourt adding to the atmosphere and there will be an opportunity for photographs.
Director Billy Ball said that it is important to recognise the tremendous efforts and sacrifices the Armed Forces make to keep us safe.
“This weekend is a tangible way that we can thank them for all they do on our behalf and to show them that we are truly grateful,” he added.
“They can come and unwind with their families and enjoy our attractions. The event also includes all Veterans who have served their country – they must never be forgotten.”
The offer is open to all serving members and Veterans on production of a valid service ID or a DDS official Veterans discount card.
The wristbands will include all rides except the Big Wheel and Go-Karts.
A similar event was staged for the Emergency Services in June and hundreds of wristbands were handed out to families.
The pier will remain open to all of its other customers across the weekend.
