New celebration benches are now available on a historic seaside landmark attraction to help remember a loved one or to mark a special milestone or occasion.
Clacton Pier is responding to requests from customers and visitors who have asked for the facility to be provided.
The benches will all be sited at the top end of the attraction overlooking the sea.
It will be the first time they have been offered under the current ownership of the Ball brothers which dates back more than 15 years.
The sponsorship will include the bench, its installation, a personal plaque with inscription as well as maintenance and care.
Pier general manager Harry Peek said it is all about listening to our visitors.
“We have had so many requests over recent years but were not in a position to grant people’s wishes for various reasons,” he added.
“We have now worked up an attractive design with a leading manufacturer to come up with benches which will truly celebrate someone, or something very special; whether that is a life, a moment or memory.
“These benches by the sea will be a personal space to reflect and remember – they will carry their own story and will become a part of the history of our attraction.”

The benches are limited in number and anyone wanting to find out more information should go to www.clactonpier.co.uk/celebration/
This weekend the pier will be teaming up with Clacton Carnival Association to mark carnival week in the town.
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday heavily discounted unlimited rides wristbands will be available for just £10 from 6pm to close.
It is a special offer for families over the three evenings and will also help raise funds for local charities and organisation with the pier making a substantial donation to carnival coffers.
On Saturday (August 9) there will be the next summer holiday free fireworks display from the end of the pier at about 9.30am.
