Mad About Theatre Company joined forces with
Clacton Pier to provide a feast of festive entertainment at the weekend.
Youngsters from the company belted out
Christmas songs and collected money for Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity,
one of the attraction’s chosen charities.
They entertained customers for three sessions
on Saturday and again on Sunday – which were the last two days of Breakfast
with Santa.
Ewelina Majewska, Operations Manager at the
Pier, said the group offered to perform and she was very happy to take them up
on the idea.
“It added another festive dimension for those
turning up for our Christmas festivities and the singers went down very well,” she
said.
“We have had about 1,000 children and adults
turn up to Breakfast with Santa and the after school events over the past few
weeks and we have been delighted with the turnout.
“We will definitely be putting on Christmas festivities
again next year and will be looking to add something new for 2019.”
Santa will be on duty for one last time on
Christmas Eve from 10.30am to 6.30pm before heading off to carry out his
deliveries to homes.
Mad About Theatre Director Indira Allen added:
“It was a great opportunity for the youngsters to perform in public and I am glad
we could we add to the festive atmosphere.”
