More than £10,000 worth of free wristbands were given out to Emergency
Services families to have fun at Clacton Pier over the weekend.

The initiative is run on an annual basis to thank the Police, Fire Service,
Ambulance, RNLI and Coastguard for all their efforts on behalf of the
community.

A similar day is being organised for the Armed Forces on September 21/22
with up to four wristbands available to each family.

Ewelina Majewska, Operations Manager at the Pier, said the weather had
held up and it was a busy two days.

“There was an excellent turnout from the Emergency Services families,
and we gave out 360 free wristbands on Saturday and another 344 on Sunday,” she
said.

“The Pier was still open to all our other customers as normal and it was
fairly busy all round.

“As it was Father’s Day on Sunday all dads were offered the chance to
bowl free in The Lanes and that also went down very well.”

There was also free children’s entertainment and live music all over the
weekend.
