Oktoberfest
gets underway at Clacton Pier this weekend with a host of fun lined-up over the
two days.
This
new venture at the attraction will include beer, food and free live music and
song from 1pm to 7pm on both Saturday (23rd) and Sunday (24th).
Oompah
bands will head the entertainment which centres around a marquee at the front
of the Boardwalk Bar and Grill.
There
are no tickets to book or pay for – just turn up and grab a table with friends
and family and enjoy the festivities.
All
tables and benches will be available on a first come, first served basis and
you only pay for what you eat and drink.
A
special swing grill will be used to cook the food and extra beer stations
brought in.
The
music and song will be provided by Oompah bands, Ein Kline Oompah and Papa
Schnitzel and regular duo Tail Feathers will also be performing in between.
Director
Billy Ball said that it is a totally new
event for the pier and one he hopes will take off and become an annual fixture.
“It
is something we have considered for some time and we believe it will go down
well – it is something different for us and we are looking forward to it,” he
added.
“We
are always looking to add to our programmes of events and are planning more for
next year already.”
Oktoberfest
will continue the following weekend on Saturday September 30 and Sunday October
1.
