Clacton Pier is celebrating picking up a prestigious accolade.
The seaside attraction collected the Headline Sponsor’s Award at the fourth Tendring4Growth Awards event staged at the town’s Princes Theatre.
The pier was chosen by Colbea, a not-for-profit enterprise and business support agency which acts as a catalyst for business success across Essex.
The winner is the business whose achievements align closely with Colbea’s values – whether through innovation, community engagement, sustainable growth, or contribution to the local community.
Harry Peek, general manager at the pier, said the whole team was delighted to receive the honour.
“We have been successful in picking up awards at the event in previous years but we have never won this particular one,” he added.

“We are extremely proud and grateful to be recognised by Colbea in this way at an awards ceremony that goes from strength to strength.
“It is a credit to all those who work at the pier and any success we achieve is down to the whole team.”
Clacton Pier won the Hospitality and Visitor Attraction Award last year and was chosen for Creative and Culture Award in 2022.
The celebration evening is the highlight of the Tendring4Growth business fortnight and there were a large number of nominations across nine categories.
“We are well aware of all the hard work that goes into organising the fortnight which is led by the Economic Growth Team at Tendring District Council,” said Mr Peek.
“The two weeks culminate in the awards which showcase all types of businesses across the entire district – and their amazing achievements.”
