Jobs are up for grabs at Clacton Pier across a whole range of different departments.

The attraction is staging its recruitment day where full-time, part-time and seasonal roles will be available.

The event is taking place on Wednesday January 21 from 11am to 5pm, in the Boardwalk Bar and Grill and anyone interested should turn up with proof of right to work and an up to date CV.

Bosses at the pier will be looking for people to be employed in roles such as rides operators, working in the soft play team, in the bar, in the arcade and as kiosk attendants.

General manager Harry Peek said that it is a chance to join the pier family.

“Last year was our first recruitment day in six years and it proved a very worthwhile exercise,” he added. “The whole idea is to make it an easy one-stop experience where people can turn up and be interviewed by one of our managers.”

There will be start dates available from February and from Easter in an effort to fill posts right across the site.

Everyone who is successful will then be invited to an induction day as part of the process.

Mr Peek said the pier is always keen to provide local people with the chance of employment and some go on to forge a career at the 6.5 acre attraction, the largest pleasure pier in Europe.

“So many people have started their working life with us and some of them have stayed and moved up through the ranks,” he explained.

“As a company we like to promote from within where possible and that policy has worked well for us over the years.”

At the end of last year the pier was recognised by Reed in Partnership as “consistently going above and beyond, exceeding expectations, uplifting others, and setting a remarkable standard through its actions” as an employer.

Clacton Pier employs about 250 people in full and part-time jobs at the height of the summer season and is one of the town’s largest employers.
