A summer of fun is being lined-up by Clacton Pier with final details of the programme now starting to take shape.

It will include new events for 2026 along with others which will be enhanced with the aim to provide something for all ages and tastes.

Pirates Ahoy will run during the May half term from May 23 to 31 and will feature a free live pirate show, treasure hunt, meet and greets as well as plenty of swashbuckling fun.

More information about the event will be released in the coming weeks.

June will see the first of three favourite character weekends which were trialled for the first time last year and will be very much for younger visitors.

Pier communications manager Nigel Brown revealed that on June 6 and 7 Chase and Marshall from children’s animated TV series PAW Patrol will be making their first appearance at the seaside attraction.

The following month on July 11 and 12 it will be the return of Bluey and Bingo who proved very popular last year.

A further character weekend will take place on September 5 and 6 with an announcement on who will be appearing due shortly.

“We are always looking to add to our offer and these events are very much aimed at our younger visitors as part of our on-going efforts to provide for all ages,” said Mr Brown.

“All the team are looking forward to Chase and Marshall arriving in June and everything will be set up for them in the Jolly Roger.

“They are both part of ten-year-old boy, Ryder’s, crew of search and rescue pups that call themselves PAW Patrol.

“Make sure you come along and have your mobile phones or cameras at the ready and then come back to greet Bluey and Bingo the following month.”

Chase and Marshall and Bluey and Bingo will be appearing at intervals throughout the two weekends and there will be opportunities to take photos during the personal appearances.

July will also see another new event with Clacton Live taking place over three weekends. It will involve a free live music festival on July 13/14, 20/21 and 27/28. They will be themed weekends.

Mr Brown added this just covers the next three months and there will be much more going on during August and September and into the autumn.

“Start getting the dates in the diary and don’t miss out on what we hope to be a fantastic summer of fun in the sun!,” he said.
