Thousands of pounds worth of fireworks are set to light up the sky over
Clacton Pier on Saturday night (November 3).
The landmark attraction is staging its seventh and final free
extravaganza of the year to thank customers for their loyal support over the
season.
It is to be the biggest and best yet with a tiny tots display at 7pm to
be followed by the main show at 8pm. The budget has been doubled for the event
to make it more spectacular than ever.
Pier Managing Director Billy Ball said the free firework displays are all
about giving something back to the community for their support.
“We are grateful to all our customers for spending their money with us
and we like to do something to recognise that fact,” he said.
“This year we have gone for one earlier display for the younger ones and
a second one at 8pm but there is nothing to stop anyone watching both for
double the entertainment.
“There will be plenty of attractions to enjoy before, in between and
after the fireworks.”
All the rides will be operating and there will be live musical
entertainment from Steve Richie (1pm-4pm) and Stuck in the Middle (6pm-10pm).
The Pier’s new-style Halloween Festival took place throughout half term and
proved a big success.
“The weather was really in our favour all week and people poured through
the doors,” added Mr Ball. “Discovery Bay soft play area was packed every day
and the whole event was really colourful and fun. Having the extra indoor
attractions really paid off.”
Clacton Pier has also launched Christmas parties with a difference for
those looking for something away from a traditional sit down meal.
It is offering three different packages of a pizza, golf at Skull Point
and dodgems for £9.99 per person; pizza, bowling and dodgems for the same price
or pizza, golf, bowling and dodgems for £11.99.
So why not challenge your work colleagues or try to beat the boss – all
with a pizza and licenced bar. For groups of ten the organiser goes free and a
ten per cent discount will be given on bar tabs over £50.
