Clacton Pier is set to welcome one of the UK’s most talked-about food sensations, as Spud Man brings his famous jacket potatoes to the seaside attraction on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st August.
Hailing from Tamworth, Spud Man – real name Ben Newman – has taken social media by storm with his feel-good approach to serving jacket potatoes loaded with hearty toppings. With millions of views across TikTok and Facebook, he’s become a viral phenomenon and attracts queues of fans wherever he goes.
Now, for two days only, visitors to Clacton Pier will be able to see what the hype is all about. From around 10am each day, Spud Man will be serving up his signature potatoes right on the front of the pier until 8pm.
This marks his first visit to Essex for quite some time, making the occasion even more special.
Harry Peek, general manager at the pier, said he has been trying to set up the visit, for some time.
“Ben and his delicious spuds continue to be massively popular, and it was difficult to find a slot when the Spudwagon was available,” he added.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing Spudman to Clacton Pier this summer. He’s become a real household name, and his visit is a fantastic addition to our events calendar. We know he has a huge following, so we’d encourage visitors to come down early and make a day of it with our rides, arcade, bowling, Jurassic Pier, adventure golf, and more.”

To add to the atmosphere, the weekend will also feature live music on the pier, creating the perfect mix of entertainment, food, and fun.
Both days are expected to be extremely popular, with food served on a first-come, first-served basis.
