Young performers are to take to the stage at Clacton Pier as part of their fight for survival.
Students from TTC Performing Arts College will be showcasing their vocal talents outside the Boardwalk Bar on Sunday (June 22).
They will be appearing throughout the day in an effort to raise awareness of their campaign to save the college from closure.
There has been an unforeseen delay in the new BA degree course which will not be able to launch until September 2026. As a result current and future students cannot access finance for 2025/26.
Nigel Brown, the pier’s Communications Manager, said that the attraction was pleased to be able to support young local talent.

“We were approached to see if the students could entertain our customers one weekend before the end of June,” he said.
“When we found out the situation they find themselves in we were only too happy to help out and our visitors are in for a real treat.
“The students will be performing vocals from 11am until early evening and along with their staff will be happy to talk to customers about the college and the issue it faces.
“We really hope people will come along and give the youngsters their backing and encouragement to carry on their fight for survival.”
The college, which is based in Oxford Road, Clacton, and was previously known as Tiffany Theatre College, has been running for 24 years.

It delivers a high level of professional training in small class groups, leading to exceptional results. This allows the students to take up many demanding career opportunities in their profession.
College Principal Phil Gostelow thanked the pier for giving the youngsters an opportunity raise the profile of their cause.
“This extremely talented group of students love to perform and I am sure that everyone who comes along on Sunday will have a great time and be suitably impressed by the standard of performance,” he added.
“Our graduates go on to perform around the world and the college is highly thought of in the profession and with agents.”
TTC has consistently offered in-house funding and scholarships to ensure that training remains accessible.
It needs to raise £200,000 by the end of June to remain open. To donate go to justgiving.com/crowdfunding/ttcperformingarts.
