A first ever exclusive deal weekend for all Blue Light card holders is being staged by Clacton Pier.
The attraction wants to thank and reward all those who give so much time and effort to looking after the community in so many ways.
Across Saturday September 12 and Sunday September 13 anyone who has a Blue Light card will be able to bring up to three guests with them.
Each will be entitled to a Big Day Out Band for just £15, rather than the normal price of £30.
They will also be able to attend both days should they wish to do so and bring different guests on the other day – again for £15 each. The card holder will need to be present with their guests.
Pier general manager Harry Peek said that there are so many dedicated professionals working hard to look after the rest of the community day in, day out across the year.
“It seems they are now working harder, and longer hours than ever before,” he added.
“We want them to be able to come down to the pier with family or friends and make the most of all the attractions we have on offer and to be able to enjoy some quality time off with us at a heavily discounted price.”
Those who have Blue Light Cards will be active or retired NHS staff, emergency service workers, social care workers, teachers and members of the armed forces.
“This is the first time ever that we have opened up these special type of weekends to so many different sectors,” said Mr Peek.
Although the end of the school holidays is approaching, Clacton Pier is continuing with a very full programme of events throughout the autumn and winter.
A magical two days with a host of Princesses appearing on Saturday September 5 and Sunday September 6 has been lined-up.
There will be an opportunity to turn up and meet, as well as take photos with, six different character Princesses. They will be roaming the attraction from 11am to 4pm on the Saturday and from 11am to 3pm on the Sunday.
Later in September and into October is the ever popular Oktoberfest, followed by Clacton FEAR and the Halloween Festival – also in October – and the final two free fireworks displays of the year on Saturday November 7.
Finally, Magical Christmas will run over the first three weekends in December as well as the last four days leading up to December 25.
