It’s almost time to raise a stein as Clacton Pier prepares to stage its fourth popular free Oktoberfest event.
The family fun takes place across three weekends with a host of live music, games, and authentic German food and beers to enjoy.
Ein Kleine Oompah Band, the Fabulous Tailfeathers and new acts will perform on stage getting everyone up singing and dancing in a huge marquee at the front of the attraction.
Inside there will be tables and benches creating a Hofbrauhaus atmosphere of true Bavarian entertainment.
Comedy trio Heidi, Hans and Gunter will be returning to keep the party going and get everyone in the mood.
Outside a new bigger and better swing grill has been bought to provide a host of sizzling favourites such as savoury bratwurst, pretzels and other delights.
Ice cold German beers and speciality brews will be served from a specially created bar next to the marquee – as well as from the Boardwalk Bar – and the scene will be completed by vibrant decorations and giant inflatables.
Pier general manager Harry Peek expects it to be the attraction’s biggest and best Oktoberfest yet.
“The new swing grill will be something special and Ein Kleine Oompah Band have also grown, welcoming a fourth member for the Saturday performances,” he said.
“We introduced this event back in 2023 for the first time and we have been able to perfect and grow it year on year. I am sure we will get many returners and some new faces who will enjoy the fun on offer.
“Remember this is free to attend and you only pay for what you eat and drink. You can dress up and take part in a festival that goes back more than 200 years.”
The fun gets underway on September 19 and 20, followed by September 26 and 27 with the finale on October 3 and 4. It starts at 12noon on each of the six days.
Pier mascot Sidney the Seagull will be joining in with his lederhosen outfit and will be available for photos with all ages!
“There are no tickets or booking – just come along and have a great time with family and friends,” added Mr Peek. “This is the latest in a long list of live events for 2026 which just keep coming.”
