Visitors are being given a boost to get maximum enjoyment at Clacton Pier across the summer.
In a first for the attraction, anyone buying a Big Day Out Band for £30 will receive an unlimited Summer Ride Pass which lasts from August 1 to August 31.
It will provide them with unlimited free rides across the month without any further payment.
The move is in part a response to the Government reducing VAT on children’s meals and entertainment from 20 per cent to five per cent across the school holidays.
The pier is going over and above that and adding its own bonus to help families with the cost of meeting days out.
General Manager, Harry Peek, said the pier has listened to the difficulties parents are facing financially over the holidays.
“We would never normally have such an offer running in the school summer holidays which are always our busiest time of the year,” he added.
“But these are tough times and we have built on the Government’s pledge and want to pass even more onto the consumer. It is a first of its kind for us.
“It works out to less than £1 a day if you buy a band at the start of August and use it every day of that month.
“We do all we can to support our local community and while it will also benefit those on a holiday or short break, it will be residents of this area who can get the most from it.”
The pass will also be valid on special occasions such as when the pier is staging its free fireworks events.
It applies to all rides except for the Go Karts and Big Wheel.
