Clacton Pier has been hailed as one of the best three piers in the UK.
The accolade comes from the Daily Express newspaper which compiled its own list based on Trip Advisor reviews.
It produced a league table of ‘must visit attractions’ with Brighton Palace Pier coming out on top.
Cromer was placed second, Clacton third with Southwold in fourth place and Eastbourne making up the top five.
It follows hot on the heels of Clacton recently being recognised as one of the best amusement parks in Europe.
The attraction was 11th out of more than 1,000 parks – and one of only five in the UK to make the top 100. It meant it was given a Trip Advisor Best of the Best Award, its highest possible level.
Clacton Pier director Billy Ball said he is delighted and proud to receive the prestigious recognition which reflects on the efforts of the whole team.
“It is an honour to collect such accolades and it shows we must be doing a good job as far as our customers are concerned,” he added.
“Both these latest announcements are based on the views of those who actually visit us and enjoy what we have to offer. They then take the time to post a review to say what they have found.
“It is a tough time for the hospitality and leisure sector and this gives us a lift just when we need it.
“Our staff are the pulsing heart of our business and deserve this praise along with everyone involved with Clacton Pier.”
On September 13 and 14 the pier will be staging its annual Armed Forces and Veterans weekend.
On both days Forces families will have unlimited free rides for up to four people. Wristbands will be available from the ticket office on the ride deck on the day.
It includes all rides except for the Big Wheel and Go-Karts.
The offer is open to all serving members of the Armed Forces and Veterans on production of a valid service ID card or an official DDS Veterans Discount Card.
A similar event was staged for the Emergency Services in June.
