An extensive programme of free fireworks displays has been unveiled by bosses at Clacton Pier for 2026.
A total of nine extravaganzas are being staged across eight dates starting in April and ending in November.
Some will be set to music and an early lower noise level performance is included again only on the final date for younger children and those unable to enjoy the louder display.
The aim of the free fireworks is to thank all the attraction’s customers for their loyal support over the year.
General Manager Harry Peek said the owners, Billy and Elliot Ball, want to continue with a strong programme despite rising costs.
“It is their way of thanking all those – both local and from a further distance – who bring their families to the pier to make happy memories,” he said.
“It is about giving something back to the community and also help boost the nighttime economy by keeping people in the town later.
“We are fortunate that Clacton, and Tendring as a whole, has a strong list of events which attract families to the area and we are very proud to be a part of that.”
The displays, which are staged at the top end of the pier on the berthing arm with a special spectator area, get underway on Sunday April 5 as part of Easter celebrations.
There are two in May – Sunday May 3 and Sunday May 24 – on bank holiday weekends before the beginning of the school summer holidays are marked on Saturday July 25.
The next extravaganza takes place on Saturday August 8, then on the first night of the Clacton Airshow on Thursday August 27 following the popular night flights.
A display on Sunday August 30 will mark the end of the school holidays and the final date is Saturday November 7 with the early and later shows.
The display for the airshow and the main performance in November will both be live streamed for those who are unable to get out to watch them.
All fireworks shows will be run in partnership with Dynamic Fireworks of Colchester who will supply and set off the pyrotechnics. MRL Productions of Clacton will provide the musical accompaniment.
