Family fun in the sun continues to keep giving with a packed programme of events on Clacton Pier.

With Pirates Ahoy and Clacton Live both a huge success the attention now turns to a character weekend.

Bluey and Bingo are set to make a return visit to the seaside attraction on Saturday and Sunday (July 11 and 12) when they set up home in the Jolly Roger Theatre.

Their first appearance at the pier last September was very well received.

Once again Bluey and Bingo will be there to meet young fans as they appear at intervals across each day and there will be an opportunity to take photos.

Harry Peek, general manager at the pier, said he is hoping that the weather continues to be kind but this event will be indoors so no one will miss out.

“After a below par start to this year things have really picked up since Whitsun onwards and we hope that will continue,” he added.

“Our character weekends are now an important part of the programme, especially aimed at our younger guests. We welcomed Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol last month and they will be a further event on September 5 and 6 with the guests to be announced soon.

“This time it’s Bluey and Bingo who can be sure of a massive Clacton Pier welcome.”

The hit animated TV series, available to watch on Disney+, CBeebies and BBC iPlayer, follows Bluey, a loveable, inexhaustible, blue heeler dog who lives with her Mum, Dad and her little sister, Bingo.

Bluey uses her limitless energy to play games that unfold in unpredictable and hilarious ways, bringing her family and the whole neighbourhood into her world of fun. Although the event is free to attend – and no tickets or reservations are required – families are advised to arrive early to make sure they do not miss out.

There will be plenty of other attractions on offer such as Discovery Bay soft play, Skull Point adventure golf, Jurassic Pier, rides and attractions as well as live music outside the Boardwalk Bar.

Visitors can save 25 per cent on Big Day Out ride wristbands by booking 24 hours in advance.

On July 25 the pier will kick-off its free summer fireworks extravaganzas having already staged one in April and two in May.
