Families flocked to Clacton Pier for the last two free fireworks displays of the year.
Crowds packed the seaward end of the attraction on both sides of the Jolly Roger theatre to get a close-up view and the fullest experience.
The extensive fireworks programme is put on for the community to thank customers for their ongoing support for the business.
The first display – with a lower noise level – took place at 5.30pm for the youngsters and those who prefer or need a quieter time. The main show was at 8.30pm and lit up the skies with colour, explosives and musical accompaniment.
It was also streamed live on Facebook for the second year for those who are unable to leave their homes and do not want to miss out.
Nigel Brown, the pier’s communications manager, said the team were delighted with the turnout.
“Families came along in their hundreds and we were very lucky with the weather which was much better than the last few Novembers,” he added.
“The feedback was excellent and the pier was very busy all evening with people enjoying all that was on offer.
“It was a really good atmosphere and a great way to bring the curtain down on the 2025 fireworks programme of 11 free displays. We are now planning ahead for 2026 with dates to be revealed soon.”
The rides are now closed down for annual maintenance and inspection and will reopen for February half term. The rest of the pier will remain open throughout the winter except for Christmas Day.
