More than 30 new staff
have been taken on by Clacton Pier in time for the Easter holidays and summer
season.

Both full and part-time
jobs have been filled as rides operators, in the arcade, retail outlets and in
Discovery Bay soft play area.

The new employees took
part in an induction and will receive training prior to this weekend’s bank
holiday.

More are needed now, and
for the for the summer, and the pier will have over 200 staff on the books for
the main season.

Operations Manager
Ewelina Majewska said she is delighted with the new recruits.

“They are all keen and
ready to get to work at Easter when we expect plenty of footfall over the
weekend and entire school holiday,” she added.

“For many it will be
their first taste of employment but those who stay with us will have the chance
to move up within the structure. We are always keen to promote home grown
talent where we can.

“There are people working
with us now – such as myself – who have moved up through the ranks to
managerial positions.”

All vacancies are on the
pier’s website, and anyone interested should send their CV to
careers@clactonpier.co.uk

The attraction’s Easter
Eggstravaganza gets underway on Friday (March 29) and runs through until April
14.

Rides will be operating,
weather dependent, throughout that period; there is an egg trail with a prize
for those who complete it and each day the first person to discover the golden
egg will win an annual rides pass worth £49.99.

It will also be the first
chance to meet the pier’s new giant Easter Bunny daily in Discovery Bay,
included in the admission price.

A free fireworks display
will go off on Sunday March 31 at about 9pm and there will be live music in the
Boardwalk at the weekends.
