A grand finale fireworks extravaganza will bring Clacton Pier’s pyrotechnic programme to a close for 2026 and celebrate Guy Fawkes.

Two free displays are being staged at the seaward end of the attraction on Saturday (November 7).

The first – with a lower level of noise – will light up the skies at 5.30pm and is very much aimed at a younger audience and for those who require a quieter experience.

The main event will then take place at 8pm and will be accompanied by special soundtracks put together for the night.

Pier communications manager Nigel Brown said it will be another spectacular show to round off an extensive and well-attended programme.

“The success and encouraging feedback we have received from adding musical accompaniment has resulted in us adding a permanent sound system for Saturday and all future displays,” he added.

“The best place to watch the fireworks is from a cordoned off area at the top of the pier either side of the Jolly Roger Theatre. It will provide the ideal view and venue to hear the soundtrack.

“We are expecting another good turnout and, like the other seven free displays, it is a thank you to all our loyal customers for their ongoing support from the attraction’s owners.”

For anyone who is unable to make it to the pier on Saturday, the main display will be streamed live on Facebook, another popular addition which began two years ago.

The fireworks are being provided and set off by Dynamic Fireworks of Colchester.

Rides will stay open until 9pm and there will be plenty of family fun to go along with the main attraction.

It will be the last time that the rides will be open this year before they close down for annual maintenance and reopen for February half term.

However, general manager Harry Peek said it is far from the end of the year for the pier.

“After this weekend it will be full steam ahead with preparations for our Magical Christmas which is already selling well online,” he added.

“We have just completed our first ever Clacton FEAR and although one weekend was affected by the weather we are delighted with all the positive comments we have received from guests and those in the industry.

“It has proved a very busy time for the team with our Halloween Festival also running throughout half term, and I thank everyone for their efforts which have helped make this all such a success.”
