The team at Clacton Pier is busy making the final preparations for the attraction’s Spooktacular Halloween Festival.
The event is being staged for nine days across half term from October 25 to November 2 with a host of scary fun for all to enjoy.
Tickets are already on sale and so far are up on the same time last year.
Almost 2,000 pumpkins will soon be arriving on site and a stage will be constructed for Sidney’s Halloween SPOOKtacular live stage show outside the Boardwalk.
Creepy-Crawly Cabin, which was introduced for the first time last year, is being increased in size and will include scorpions and spiders to enhance the experience in addition to the giant African land snails, thorny stick insects, giant millipedes and hissing cockroaches.
The ever-popular Misery Mansion will also be returning and gives everyone the chance to face their fears and brave the horrors that await inside.
Pier general manager Harry Peek said it is a pretty quick turnaround after a successful Oktoberfest but everything is going to plan.
“Halloween seems to get bigger and better every year and our festival is no exception to that,” he added. “The team are getting excited to welcome our visitors – whatever their age – and we can assure them they will have a ghoulishly good time.
“We have so much on offer and we will have even more fascinating critters to get up and personal with in Creepy-Crawly Cabin for those who are brave enough. If you missed it last time, be sure to come along. You won’t be disappointed.”
There is also the opportunity to take a thrilling ride on Ghost Trail: 4D with cutting edge effects as part of a fright-filled adventure or carve out a pumpkin and take your masterpiece home with you.
Sidney the Seagull, the pier’s mascot, will be getting dressed up for his live show and resident witch Pierella is back with her own interactive pier-themed tale for the kids to get involved with.
The best deal is the Frightfully Fun Band which includes an entry to Misery Mansion, Creepy-Crawly Cabin, Pumpkin Patch, and Ghost Train: 4D as well as unlimited rides (excluding Go Karts and Big Wheel), 18 holes of Adventure Golf and five video games credits.
The band is priced £19.99 if bought online in advance or £24.99 on the day of the visit.
Halloween attractions are open from 11am to 5pm daily over half term and full details can be found at www.clactonpier.co.uk
