More than 30 jobs are up for grabs at Clacton
Pier as it prepares for the start of the new season in February.
Bosses are looking to recruit full-time,
part-time and seasonal posts to work right across the 6.5 acre landmark
attraction.
A special event is being staged on Thursday January
24 from 12pm to 8pm in the Boardwalk Bar and Grill and anyone interested in
joining the team is invited to turn up with their CV.
Ewelina Majewska, Operations Manager at the Pier,
said there will be a whole host of positions that need to be filled as the Pier
gears up for February half term.
“We are a truly a 52-week a year business with
our new £4 million development of indoor attractions and have been busy throughout
the winter so far,” she said.
“However, we are now looking ahead a month or
so to when the rides will be re-opening and we will need to employ extra staff
in a number of areas to cope with the expected increase in visitor numbers.
“It is an opportunity to join the Pier family
and as we are keen to promote from within, it could be the start of a very
fulfilling career with the chance to work your way up the ladder. I myself
started as a rides operator and did several other jobs before landing my
current managerial position.”
Among the posts to fill are a rides manager
with an engineering background, electronics and mechanical engineers, general
ride attendants, arcade attendants, and bowling attendants.
The Pier is also looking for an assistant manager
(food and drink), chefs, a specialist pizza chef, waiters and waitresses, party
hosts, and cleaners.
“We are always keen to give local people a
chance of employment so please come along for a chat on January 24,” added
Ewelina.
Clacton Pier employs around 200 people at the
height of the summer period.
