A young couple who met and work on Clacton Pier love it so much they chose
to stage their wedding reception at the popular landmark.
John Walker, 25, and his 21-year-old bride Sam Stones decided to invite
their guests to the Boardwalk Bar and Grill after taking their vows at Colchester
Register Office.
John is the Rides’ Team Leader at the Pier while Sam is Cashiers’ Team
Leader at the attraction. They both started working there more than five years
ago.
Sam said: “It seemed the ideal place for us to have our reception and
party – especially as many of our guests also work at the Pier.
“We all enjoyed a great evening and it was easy for us to organise beforehand
as we both work on site.”
Pier Director Billy Ball said he was delighted with the couple’s choice
of venue for their special day.
“John and Sam are very much a part of the Pier family and we were only
too pleased to be able to be part of their wedding celebrations,” he added.
