Bosses at Clacton Pier were delighted to pick up a prestigious Tendring
Blue Ribbon Business Award for the second year in succession.

Having collected the accolade for Hospitality and Leisure in 2017 the
landmark attraction was the winner of the Business in the Community Award for
this year.

Managing Director Billy Ball collected the trophy from Linda Green of
Green Square at the ceremony at Clacton’s Princes Theatre on Thursday.

“We were delighted to be successful in our category last time but to be
honoured for making a significant impact within the community is very special
indeed,” he said.

“It is not all about us and we are committed to the town of Clacton and
the District of Tendring as a whole which we firmly believe in. It is a special
place to live and work and we try to play our part to help it prosper.

“We love to get involved with our local community – and get it to engage
with us wherever possible; we support a number of groups, organisations and
charities. It is very much a part of what we are about as a company.”

Clacton Pier apprentice Jordan Parsons was also nominated for Apprentice
of the Year and made it to the final three where she was pipped at the post by
the amazing Hannah Clark.

“Our congratulations go to Hannah who has achieved fantastic things and
we are extremely proud of Jordan for running her so close,” added Mr Ball.

He praised the organisers of the Blue Ribbon Awards – Jamesons, Barclays
and Tendring District Council – for putting on such a successful event.

The Pier will be looking for categories to enter for the 2019 event.

“This is a fixture of the diary now and it has really caught the
imagination of the businesses in the area,” said Mr Ball. “I hope everyone
continues to support it in the future and we are certainly very proud to have
been recognised in the awards.”

The Pier sponsored the Hospitality and Leisure Award this year and was
pleased to be able to hand it over to Coastal Golf.
