Bosses
at Clacton Pier are drawing up plans for one of its busiest periods of the
year.

Easter Eggstravaganza, with its four-day bank holiday, always pulls in
the crowds with visitors and residents flocking to the attraction.

It will kick-off a period of 17 consecutive days when rides will be open
and other activities are being lined-up to provide a host of family fun.

A giant Easter Bunny will be appearing in Discovery Bay Soft Play as
part of the admission price and will be found in the new Ocean Theatre room.

The pier will also be hosting its biggest ever free egg hunt each day over
the school holiday as well as the first free fireworks display of the year which
takes place on Sunday March 31.

Director Billy Ball said it is the first big weekend of 2024 and is
usually the second busiest behind August Bank Holiday.

“With four days – and hopefully some decent weather – Easter weekend is
a bumper one for us and we don’t expect this year to be any different,” he
added. “More details about the entertainment will be revealed nearer the time.”

At Whitsun the pier will be celebrating the first anniversary of the
opening of its newest attraction, Jurassic Pier.

Over half term, from May 25 to June 2, the
attraction will be teaming up with The Experiences Group to bring in three life
size dinosaurs and baby dinosaurs which will be appearing on site throughout
the day.

The award-winning group has delivered similar
experiences for Drayton Manor Resort, West Midland Safari and Leisure Park and Pleasure
Wood Hills Family Theme Park.

Looking further ahead, Oktoberfest, will be
expanded to cover three weekends, September 20 to 22, 27 to 29 and then October
4 to 6. Friday evenings are being included for the first time.

The popular Ein Kleine Oompah Band, which
appeared in 2023, has already been booked to return for the festival.

This weekend February Frenzy gets underway at
the attraction with a half price Big Day Out Band available for £12.50 from
Saturday (17th) through to February 25.

Mr Ball said the pier’s growing events
programme is creating a great deal of interest.

“We are committed to making 2024 the biggest
and best yet and we will be unveiling information and dates as soon as
available for people to get in their diaries,” he added.
