Recruitment day hailed a success

More than 200 people turned up for a recruitment
event at Clacton Pier to fill around 30 jobs on offer for the start of the new
season.
It was a successful day staged in the Boardwalk
Bar on Thursday with full-time, part-time and seasonal posts filled across all
departments of the attraction.
Those who have landed a position have been
invited back to induction days on February 6 and 7, while some will be inducted
in March to start at Easter.
Ewelina Majewska, Operations Manager at the
Pier, said that although the overall footfall was down slightly for the event
bosses were pleased with the response.
“We have taken on enough people to fill the
posts which were up for grabs and we are now ready for the start of the main season
on February 16,” she said.
“We will not be looking to recruit any more general
staff at this time as the day was a great success and attended by a wide range
of ages and experience.”
There are, however, still specialist full-time
posts available for a rides’ manager with a mechanical engineering background;
a pizza chef and other chefs.
Clacton Pier employs around 200 people at the
height of the summer period.
