Final plans are being put in place for a massive Halloween celebration at Clacton Pier.
The attraction’s ever popular spooktacular festival is being staged for nine days over half term from October 24 to November 1 with a host of scary fun on offer.
The Frightfully Fun Band early bird sale has started with the chance to make a big saving of 30 percent with those buying by September 20 only paying £17.50 compared to £25.
Pier general manager Harry Peek said it is going to be a very busy couple of months for the team with three major events taking place.
“Oktoberfest kicks off this weekend and then Clacton Fear begins in mid-October followed hot on the heels by our very special Halloween Festival,” he said.
“There is going to be something for all ages and tastes and we are sure all three will deliver on every level.
“Halloween seems to have grown tremendously in this country over recent years and we want to give our visitors a ghoulishly great time. Everywhere around the site will be decorated and it will be a chance for people to dress up in their favourite costumes.”
Around 2,000 pumpkins have been put on order to satisfy demand in the Pumpkin Patch at the front of the pier.
Sidney the Seagull, the attraction’s mascot, will be appearing on stage in a revamped live show outside the Boardwalk – especially for his young fans.
Creepy-Crawly Cabin is being extended. Having been introduced for the first time in 2024 it has proved a huge hit. It will include a range of fascinating critters such as scorpions and spiders as well as giant African land snails, thorny stick insects, giant millipedes and hissing cockroaches.
On top of all this there will be an all new scary fun live action walk through experience to be announced soon.
The Frightfully Fun Bad will provide visitors with one entry to Creepy-Crawly Cabin; one entry to Pumpkin Patch; entry to Ghost Train: 4D; unlimited rides; 18-holes of Adventure Golf and five video game credits.

Oktoberfest – a free to attend event – gets underway this weekend with a host of live music, games, and authentic German food and beers to enjoy.
Ein Kleine Oompah Band, the Fabulous Tailfeathers and new acts will perform on stage getting everyone up singing and dancing in a huge marquee at the front of the attraction.
A new bigger and better swing grill has been bought to provide a host of sizzling favourites such as savoury bratwurst, pretzels and other delights. Ice cold German beers and speciality brews will be served from a specially created bar next to the marquee..
The event continues on September 26 and 27 with the finale on October 3 and 4. It starts at 12 noon on each of the six days.
