Clacton Pier will be celebrating Father’s Day on Sunday with free rides for all dads.
It is the third year in succession the attraction has run the event which has proved very popular and has now become a regular on the calendar.
The pier also operates an identical event for mums on Mother’s Day in March.
Communications Manager Nigel Brown said that it is all about getting the family having fun together.
“It is a chance for the adults to enjoy the rides and make happy memories with their children without any extra cost to them,” he said.
“The offer for dads is extended to grandpas, uncles and guardians over 18 and applies when a Big Day Out Band is bought for a child. The adult will then be offered a free wristband.”
This will also apply to youngsters who are using their annual rides pass on Sunday.
“We normally hand out hundreds of bands and we are looking forward to doing the same this time,” added Mr Brown.
This weekend also see the first of the pier’s Clacton Live free themed music events.
On Saturday (June 13) and Sunday (June 14) the attraction, working in partnership with Laughing Bulldog Events, has a host of bands lined-up for a Reggae weekender.
The festival all gets underway at 1pm each day and runs through until 8pm on the first day featuring sought after solo artist Mitchell Joseph, as well as bands Natural Right and five-piece Blue Mountain fronted by Christina Akasha.
On Sunday four-piece band Runaway Bay take to the stage followed by another four-piece band FYA and then Reggae Falls, ending at 6pm.
There is no booking or tickets – the music is free – with a specially constructed stage outside the Boardwalk Bar and Grill.
It is the first time that Clacton Live has been put on and on June 20-21 it will be the turn of Country Music and then on June 27-28 it will feature Best of British.
There will also be food and drink including specialist vendors.
“There should something to suit all musical tastes across the three weekends – or come and watch them all,” said Mr Brown.
