Bosses at Clacton Pier are hoping for a hat-trick of musical hits when Best of British takes over the attraction this weekend.
The pier’s first ever Clacton Live free music event has gone down a storm with bands, solo artists, food and drink providing a feast of entertainment.
Crowds have been singing and dancing in the sun around a specially-created stage outside the Boardwalk Bar from lunchtime into the evening.
This weekend another strong line-up has been pulled together in association with Laughing Bulldog events of Tamworth.
On Saturday Ronan Williams, Here Comes Dua – a Dua Lipa tribute, and Vox Beatles will be taking to the stage from 1pm to 8pm.
And the following day Andy Martin Best of Britpop, Willow Grac and Scott Borley – one of the top Robbie Williams tributes, will entertain from 1pm to 6pm.
Clacton Pier’s communications manager Nigel Brown said the festival has been a great success.
“We have been blessed with perfect weather, the artists have all put on great performances and our guests have had a cracking time – what could be better,” he added.
“The feedback so far has been fantastic and we are looking to run Clacton Live again next June.
“The weather looks good once more this weekend so there’s no reason to expect anything other than more of the same.”
There is no booking or tickets and the music is free.
Mr Brown praised all those who had attended the first two weekends and said that it all went off superbly without incident.
He also thanked the pier team for their hard work and efforts in scorching temperatures.
