Youngsters from across the Tendring district pounded the promenade in the heat to raise more than £6,400 on Sunday.
A total of 123 Scouts, Cubs, Beavers and Squirrels took part in the sponsored walk from Walton Pier to Clacton Pier.
The young people, aged between four and 18, were joined by their families, friends and section leaders along the Lower Promenade for the annual effort which goes from strength to strength.
As a reward, all those who took part were given a free rides wristband for Clacton Pier to enjoy once they had finished.
District Lead Volunteer Julie Talbot was full of praise for everyone who gave up their Sunday to help raise vital much-needed funds.
“It was a brilliant turnout and raising more than £6,400 is just fantastic, so well done all,” she said.
“It was a pretty warm day and hard work out there but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and these young people were a credit to our organisation.
“I would also like to thank the organising team who put a lot of effort into staging the event which helps to raise our profile in the community which is also very important. I am so grateful to Clacton Pier for their continued support once again this year.”
The Explorer Scouts did the full fourteen miles from Clacton to Walton and back again while younger ones joined in at Walton, Frinton and Holland-on-Sea. Most of the money goes to individual groups, while ten per cent is used to support district activities.
Clacton Pier communications manager Nigel Brown said it was a tough ask in the sun and all those participating deserved a reward.
“Top marks to every single youngster, however old, for taking on the challenge in the sun and for wanting to raise funds for the organisation which does so much for them,” he added.
“We are proud to support this walk with the free ride wristbands which are very hard earned.”
